About this image: Waterfall
on high in Charpentier Inlet
This tumbling waterfall was situated high up a rock face on
one of the shores surrounding Charpentier Inlet. The rock
base, the closing in of trees above the waterfall and the
gentle tumbling of the water made for an ideal photo. Using
the 75 – 300 mm zoom lens on the Canon EOS 20D we were able
to capture the fine details and textures of the rocks and
vegetation. |

About this image:
Is this waterfall feeding the clouds below??!
This photo captures this waterfall as we saw it situated
above the fog and clouds of the afternoon. This photo made
us think of photos of waterfalls seen high in the Andes
mountains. Of course, the evergreens were the give-away that
it actually wasn't in the Andes but rather in the Northern
forests. |

About this image:
Posing for a photo
As we were returning from our afternoon in Charpentier
Inlet, we saw this Grizzly (Alaska Brown) bear standing and
posing on the shore. In all of our years of travelling and
adventuring in mountainous and backwoods areas we have never
seen as many Grizzly and Black bears as we have seen in
Glacier Bay. |

About this image:
A Bald Eagle sitting in a Bald(ing) tree
Whether this Bald Eagle was trying to camouflage himself in
this Balding Tree we don't know for sure, but he kept a wary
eye on shore looking out for an evening snack. |

About this image: “Twins” for
dinner
After dropping our anchor for the evening, a short round of
fishing brought up a pair of Pacific Halibut – just enough
to top up the freezer. The one on the left measured 42” /
106 cm; the one on the right 34” / 86 cm. With over 51 lbs /
23 kg of fresh caught halibut, it was a pretty easy decision
what we would have for dinner. |

About this image: “Twins” keeping
on eye on dinner
Shortly after landing our catch of two nice sized, fresh
halibut, a second Bald Eagle swooped down to join his buddy.
With 4 sharp eyes and 2 even sharper beaks they made a
hungry looking pair. “Hey, by the way, where's Fang??!” |
